Pennant adds two partners to health care collaborative(Feb 2012)

The addition of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and Carson City Hospital begins building a health care collaborative beyond its founding members. The two hospitals are the first to join Pennant Health Alliance, which formed 18 months ago to offer hospitals an alternative to a merger in an age of consolidation in the health care industry. Founding members include Metro Health in Wyoming, Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Health System, and the West Michigan operations of Trinity Health that comprise Mercy Health: Saint Mary's Health Care in Grand Rapids, Muskegon's Mercy Health Partners, and hospitals in Cadillac and Grayling.

Health care collaborative Pennant Health Alliance ready to reach out(Apr 2011)

Pennant Health Alliance — the health care collaborative formed six months ago as an alternative to mergers in a consolidating health care industry — is ready to begin growing its ranks. The alliance — presently consisting of founders Metro Health in Grand Rapids, the University of Michigan Health System and Trinity Health — will soon send out letters of intent to eight hospitals and large physician groups in West Michigan to either join or become an affiliate member.

University of Michigan Health System announces partnership with two health systems(Sep 2010)

The University of Michigan Health System is teaming up with two community health systems on the west side of the state to form Pennant Health Alliance, UMHS officials announced this morning. The alliance between UMHS, Kent County-based Metro Health and Trinity Health will combine clinical support and administrative services in several areas, including: group purchasing, revenue cycle management, health information technology and physician alignment.

Pennant Health Alliance Formed to Support Local Independent Providers - Sept. 22, 2010

In a move designed to strengthen independent community hospitals and physician practices, Metro Health, Trinity Health and University of Michigan Health System have joined to launch Pennant Health Alliance. The new support-services network was unveiled this morning by the sponsoring organizations. The alliance initially will offer clinical support and administrative services in four key areas: physician alignment and recruitment, health information technology, revenue cycle management, and group purchasing.
